Town of Monson
Board of Assessors
Monday November 14, 2011
Members Present: Assessors Chairman Russell Bressette Jr., Allan Curtis
Members Absent: Michael Benfield

Open the Meeting:  The meeting was called to order at 4:20pm.


Accept the Minutes:  A motion was made by Allan and seconded by Russell to accept the minutes of October 17, 2011.  The motion passed unanimously.


OLD BUSINESS:
  • None
NEW BUSINESS:

The Board voted and approved the following Motor Vehicle Abatements:
  • 2011 Abatements in the amount of $860.64
  • 2010 Abatements in the amount of $149.37
The Board reviewed and signed the completed LA4, LA15, LA13, LA13A, and the OL1 forms from the Tax Recap.

The Board was notified that the Tax Classification Hearing with the Board of Selectmen will be held on November 22, 2011 at 7pm.  This will be held contingent upon our Fiscal Year 2012 values being approved by the DOR.

The Board was notified of a request by opposing counsel to change the date of the upcoming hearing.  The request is to have the date changed from 12/8/2011 to 12/6/2011.  Town counsel is in agreement of this change.

The Board reviewed the Clause 41C Elderly Exemption limits.  They discussed possible changes to the limits for the next fiscal year.  The Board will revisit this issue at a future meeting.

The Board was updated on miscellaneous items.

The next meeting was scheduled for Monday December 5, 2011 at 4:15pm

ADJOURN:  At 5:00pm, a motion was made by Allan and seconded by Russell to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.
